Alice's approach

Alice Chapman

My name is Alice and I am a yoga teacher and yoga therapist based in Devon, UK. I specialise in yoga for women’s health, specifically pregnancy yoga and post natal yoga. Pregnancy, birth and motherhood are defining rights of passage in a woman’s life. My goal is to welcome the challenges and changes that inevitably come with such transitions with ease using a broad range of yoga techniques both ancient and modern.

I have had the great privilege of teaching pregnant women yoga since 2009. However I never felt completely qualified until 2012 when my first son was born. After that my enthusiasm was renewed and in 2014 I re-trained with Uma Dinsmore Tuli while pregnant with my second son.

I now teach the pregnancy and postnatal modules on the Devon school of yoga teacher training and post-graduate yoga therapy courses. And continue to deepen my knowledge and understanding of women’s relationships to this ancient guide for a healthy and awakened life.

My approach is to nurture and care for mothers-to-be and new mothers. Providing safe and effective yoga exercises for the physical body, building strength and support. Opening to space inside and outside the body for more comfortable pregnancy and postnatal bodies.
